Children's Events and Activities: January – August 2012

First Friday Praise - First Friday in March and May in the Dining Hall. Join us for a potluck dinner followed by worship for all ages that is kid-friendly. Families, singles, young, and young at heart are welcome! After worship there will be activities for kids and time for fun and fellowship for all. Dinner at 6 p.m. then around 6:45 pm worship begins with praise music, 10-15 minute Bible message, and more. Join us for an evening of praise and fellowship.

Parent Meeting - Wednesday, September 14, 6:15 - 7:15 p.m. in room 240-J. Parents of children (infants - 5th graders) meet to discuss children’s formation and events for coming year.

Check It Out Class - Sundays, February 26, March 4 & March 11 from 11 am - noon in room 210-A. During this class, our 3rd - 5th graders explore what it means to be a Christian, learn how to become a Christian, and learn about the ordinances that we observe at FBC.

Firm Foundation Class - Sundays, January 8, 15, 22, and 29th, 11 a.m. - noon in room 210-B.  This is a four week course for 4th - 5th graders that teaches them about the first words of Jesus at the age of 12 that are recorded in the Bible.  They will learn how these words “I must be about my Father’s business” apply to them now.

First Grade Bible Presentation - Sunday, January 22, in the sanctuary during the 8:30 and 11:00 worship services. First graders will be presented with their own Bibles.

Parenting Seminars -  Wednesdays, February 1, 8, and 15 from 6:15pm-7:15pm in Suite 280. 
Parenting is one of the most challenging, yet fulfilling, roles in human existence.  Consider joining gifted and knowledgeable speakers from Commonwealth Parenting as they present 3 programs at FBC.  There is no charge.  Child care is available.

2/15/12—Raising a Resilient Child

Parents Night Out - Friday, February 10, 6 - 9:00 p.m.  Parents enjoy an evening out while children (infants - 5th grade) enjoy an evening of games, stories, and fun. Reservations required. $5 per child, $15 maximum.   

Journey to the Cross - a family experience - Sunday, March 18, 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. in the Dining Hall. Journey through Jesus’ last days by traveling thru 5 multi-sensory engaging stations. Stations will be open all morning. Lunch served after the 11 a.m. service. Event is free throughout the day for all to experience.  RESERVATIONS FOR LUNCH REQUIRED.

Easter on Parade - Sunday, April 8, noon - 5 p.m. on Monument Avenue. Volunteer as a family for an hour or two to serve at this great community event as we share the love of Christ thru puppet shows and games.

Talent Show - Sunday, April 22, noon - 2 p.m. in the Dining Hall. Following lunch children will share their talents. Reservations required. Cost for lunch is $6 per adult $4 per child with a maximum of $18 per immediate family

Wednesday Evening Activities - end of the year program, May 16th. 

Vacation Bible School – June 25 – 29 from 9am – noon.  Theme to be announced soon.
