Steve Booth
has served Richmond’s First Baptist Church since 2002. He presently serves
as Associate Pastor for Christian Formation. He and the other Christian
Formation staff ministers partner with the Formation Ministry Team in
developing and implementing an array of programs and ministries to assist
individuals in the on-going “process of being conformed in the image of
Christ for the sake of others.” (Invitation to a Journey, Robert
Mulholland).
The ministry

Steve was
ordained by the Highland Baptist Church, Louisville, Kentucky in 1979. He
came to First Baptist Church after having served in Indiana, Virginia and
North Carolina as pastor, pastoral educator, field education supervisor,
adjunctive faculty member, and congregational consultant. Steve is a native
Mississippian with family roots in North Carolina. He received his
undergraduate degree from Campbell University, the Master of Divinity degree
from Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY, and the Doctor of Ministry degree
from Andover Newton Theological School in Newton Centre, MA.
He and his
wife, Barbara, are the parents of Meredith, Jordan, married to Erin, and
Megan, married to Peter.
