Becky Payne has served as FBC’s Associate Minister and Organist since 1990.
Her primary duties include:
- Accompany worship services, concerts, funerals, weddings
- Assist in Worship Planning
- Accompany the Youth Choir and direct Girl’s Ensemble
- Direct the JOYSingers Senior Adult Choir
- Work with Congregational Care Team
- Coordinate activities for older adults
Ms. Payne is a graduate of William Carey College, in Hattiesburg, MS,
where she received her degree in Church Music with a major in organ
performance. She also holds the Master's of Church Music degree from The
Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, with a major
in vocal performance. She has previously served as Organist/Music Assistant
at First Baptist Church, Dothan, AL, and First Baptist Church, Jackson, MS.
Ms. Payne is a native of Lucedale, MS. She has written articles on
children's choir for Church Musician Magazine and has published organ
arrangements in Pedalpoint Magazine.
She has three brothers: John, Rod and Van.
